John Bell

John Bell has recently compteted a certificate course in violin bow making from the Victoria Conservatory of Music and has now set up a shop for repairing bows, bow restoration, rehairing and bow building. If you feel you bow is not as it should check with John for a free evaluation of your bow.

John lives at 704 Shellbourne Blvd in Campbell River and can be contacted at 923-6646 or in the back row at fiddlejam on a Thursday night.

Dave Stevenson of the Black Swan School of Celtic Music is starting its 9th year. There are some spaces still available for students who want to learn fiddle and or violin. Halls for Rent

The Merville Hall is now open for business. Situated between Courtenay and Campbell River, on the Old Island Highway, the hall is ideally suited to service both communities. The hall is big and, with a liquor license, can hold 192 people. Without alcohol, the number of patrons 250 people.

The hardwood floor is perfect for dancing, for theatre groups, for parties, for sports and for craft fairs. There is a stage with lighting, there is a kitchen and table and chair storage. The basement level has two large rooms that can be rented for meetings or for community activities such as daycare or crafts.
